Eddie Paynter is the Centre Manager of Chatswood Chase, bringing over 20 years of experience across retail and property, working with international brands and institutional landlords. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in multiple large-scale redevelopment projects, successfully delivering complex transformations that balance commercial outcomes with long-term community benefit.
 
Most recently, Eddie has led the centre management team through the reimagining of Chatswood Chase into a premium luxury precinct. This significant investment has repositioned the centre as a destination not only for the local Chatswood community, but for the broader North Shore and northern Sydney region, offering an elevated mix of retail, dining and lifestyle experiences.
 
Eddie’s connection to business began early through his family. Raised by small business owners, he spent much of his youth working in his parents’ restaurants. These formative experiences instilled in him a strong work ethic, a deep respect for small business, and an enduring appreciation of the challenges and resilience required to succeed in local enterprise.
 
He cares deeply about the communities he represents and is passionate about fostering environments where businesses and individuals can thrive. Eddie strongly believes in the value of organisations such as the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce in strengthening local networks, encouraging collaboration, and supporting sustainable economic growth.
 
Outside of his professional life, Eddie grew up on the Northern Beaches and North Shore, played rugby for the Manly and Chatswood Rugby Clubs, and is a dedicated family man with three young children. He is personally invested in helping shape vibrant, inclusive and future-focused communities that will benefit generations to come and brings both professional expertise and genuine care to every role he undertakes.
