Jam Xia is a commercial banker with over 10 years of experience across business and corporate banking, currently working within one of Australia’s leading financial institutions. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with businesses across industries including manufacturing, property, hospitality, trade, technology and agribusiness, supporting clients with growth, investment and long-term business planning.
In addition to his professional banking career, Jam previously served as an elected Councillor on Willoughby City Council, providing him with valuable experience in community engagement, local government and strategic planning. His combined background across banking, business and public service gives him a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing local businesses in Chatswood and the wider Willoughby area.
Jam has been an active contributor to the local business community through his involvement with the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce, where he currently serves as Vice President and board member. He has assisted with member engagement, business networking initiatives, event coordination and strengthening relationships between the Chamber, local businesses and community stakeholders.
If elected to continue serving on the board, Jam hopes to support initiatives that deliver practical value to local businesses while strengthening Chatswood’s position as a leading commercial and cultural centre on Sydney’s North Shore. Drawing on his banking experience and professional networks, he aims to assist the Chamber in expanding partnerships with businesses and stakeholders, increasing member engagement, supporting small and medium enterprises through networking and education opportunities, and encouraging greater participation from young professionals and multicultural businesses.
Jam is passionate about supporting sustainable local economic growth and ensuring the Chamber continues to be a strong, collaborative and forward-looking voice for businesses across Chatswood and the wider Willoughby community
