Celebrating women leaders in our business community
This month I will be hosting a luncheon to honour the women in our community who are building companies, leading organisations, and opening doors for generations to come. If that describes you, I invite you to register here for this event.

How AI is affecting Bradfield
Workers across Australia are feeling the effects of AI, nowhere more than right here in Bradfield. A report from USYD found that of all 150 federal electorates, Bradfield has the most AI-exposed workforce. Bradfield is full of analysts, administrators, finance professionals, marketers, programmers, writers, consultants and public servants: the types of professional occupations this technology reaches first.
While commonwealth departments haven't found major employment effects yet, there are already signs of weaker job growth in the most affected areas.
With the growing number of AI data centres being proposed in our area, the terms of AI development matter here more than almost anywhere else. Bradfield is being asked to host the infrastructure and absorb the labour market consequences at the same time.
That's why in Canberra I've been putting the urgency argument on notice. We are told we have no time to lose or the investment will go elsewhere, but I argue the opposite: There is a reason these companies want to build here, and if the opportunity is as large as we are told, it is not going anywhere. Bradfield is already feeling the consequences of the AI boom. We need to slow down, get this right, and make sure AI doesn't lose us our job security.
